Invisalign is a clear aligner system used to correct crowding, spacing and a range of bite issues without fixed brackets and wires. Treatment is planned digitally, then delivered as a series of custom trays.
Your orthodontist reviews the digital plan before it is manufactured, adjusting the sequence of movements where the automated proposal is not clinically ideal. Small tooth-coloured attachments are often bonded to certain teeth to give the aligners something to grip.
Appointments through treatment are shorter than with fixed braces, and there are no wire adjustments or emergency visits for poking wires. As with any aligner system, the result depends on wearing them consistently. Retainers are needed afterwards to hold the corrected position, and this applies to every orthodontic treatment, not just aligners.
