Porcelain Veneers
Thin custom shells bonded to the front of teeth to change shape, colour or alignment.
Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front surfaces of teeth. They can close small gaps, mask discolouration that whitening will not shift, and reshape teeth that are chipped, worn or slightly out of line.
Placing a veneer normally means removing a small amount of enamel so the shell sits flush rather than bulky. That step cannot be undone, so a tooth that has been prepared for a veneer will always need one. We discuss this openly before starting.
Porcelain resists staining well and holds its appearance over years of normal use. It can still chip or debond under heavy force, so patients who clench or grind are usually advised to wear a night guard. Where the aim is a change across several front teeth, we plan the whole set together so the result looks even.
Suitability and results depend on a clinical examination. Your dentist will explain options, risks and costs before any treatment.
